The must-sees in the area
The Avesnois, on the border of Belgium, is home to a natural park and numerous outdoor or cultural activities. WALKS
The Mormal State Forest is located a few kilometres away, on the edge of the lovely village of Maroilles and its famous cheese.
In the high Sambre nature reserve and its surroundings, many marked trails are also indicated.

HERITAGE
The region is full of unusual routes, among the famous bocage of Avesnois, leading you from village to village to discover churches, chapels, and wayside shrines dating from the 16th century, farmhouses from the 18th century, mills and kiosks, typical architectures made of limestone adorned with brickwork.

THE MATISSE MUSEUM
Beyond the Mormal forest, about an hour away, lies the Matisse Museum, created by Henri Matisse during his lifetime.

THE ZOO OF MAUBEUGE
Twenty minutes away is the Zoo of Maubeuge, right in the city centre.
